Academic Toolbox September Newsletter
The leaves are starting to change, the weather is cool, the pencils are sharpened the fruit bowl is full and my tennis shoes have moved to my gym bag….All the signs of a new school year.
This is a quote that our daughter Tammy shared in an e-mail to family and friends. Yes, she is a teacher getting ready to head back to school along with three of our Grandchildren.
I am sure all of you in a one way or another show signs in your home of yet another new school year. We wish everyone a great school year with many wonderful learning experiences.
As for us at the Toolbox, it was a very busy August and we thank all the teachers and homeschool parents who stopped by to do their back to school shopping. I (Sharon) would really appreciate any "heads-up" as to any resources that I may need to order to support the new curriculums that we have heard teachers mention.
Now that the back to school rush is over with, where do we go from here? Well, keeping the shelves stocked with flash cards and a variety of games and book resources that might help the struggling student or one that needs to be challenged a bit more is one goal. We will also continue to keep the homeschool room stocked with a variety of resources.
Hey, Grandparents, remember we are increasing our toy selection and will continue to do so with Christmas just around the corner. Have your grandchildren or their parents stop by and fill out a "Wish List", then, you will know exactly what gift to purchase for that special Grandchild.
Frequent shopper card drawing winner this month is Rebecca & James Justus. They win $25 to spend in the store.
New, new, what’s new in the store??
Chemistry sets from Thames & Cosmos. We have not seen them since 9-11. Also from them a few other science kits including a fuel cell car kit.
Due to popular demand, we will be getting more election books & resources.
Coming soon, a new display from Innovative Kids featuring books, and games. The display will include board books, bath books, books with games and science titles. These are all greats gifts that are fun and educational.
As of October we will begin to receive our Christmas toy orders, which will include games, our special focus for the holidays. Our Christmas theme will be "It's Game Time".
One item that comes highly recommended is the Build-A-Road set that has 15 feet of flexible track and 2 battery operated cars by International Playthings. For 3 years plus.
We already have the Melissa & Doug Kitchen unit available along with wooden cookware and foods to fill the cupboards. New Thomas Train engines and sets are now available.
As daughter Tammy ended her e-mail with "our running shoes are laced and off we go", and with that we will run until next month.
If you wish to be removed from our list please respond with your name so we can find your address to delete.
