ACADEMIC TOOLBOX NEWS
Hello friends, welcome to spring? It has been a warm February so far. Just watched the New Orleans Saints win the Super Bowl. What a great reward for all the hard work that the people in New Orleans have done the last few years. Makes one think of Haiti and hope that their recovery will make them better than they started out before the earthquake. These things sort of help us to realize our problems are sort of petty. As our life goes on here we don’t have a lot to report, which is good. The last few days we have received quite a bit of merchandise so our daily “what’s new” postings on Facebook would not fit very well. We’ll try to give you the highlights here. Meanwhile, just want to say that it seems like there is a positive vibe going around. We’ve seen an increase in the numbers of homeschoolers and virtual learners, but also an increased concern of parents about their child’s education. This is all good because it hopefully will increase discussions and that can only lead to improvement. I’ve always been taught that you cannot maintain, you can only move forward or backward, because if you “maintain” the world will pass you by.
Personal note of thanks to all who were concerned while our daughter Tammy was living without and then having her pacemaker replaced. She is back in the classroom and doing well. Meanwhile our son Dean, who had a hole in is heart repaired after junior high has just not been feeling up to snuff and is undergoing some tests. He is also a high school teacher.
DRAWING WINNER
Our frequent shopper drawing winner this month is Heather Wilson an East Wenatchee teacher. Congratulations Heather, you now have $25 to spend in the store.
REMINDER
We have another order of MSP books and flashcards on the way. What is left of our WASL books are reduced to 60% off original prices. They still have great information and still align to the standards. Not a lot of publicity on test dates which is good because that may help alleviate some test anxiety. If you are dying to know, we have the proposed dates from the publisher and will share with you when you call or ask.
