JANUARY 2010 ACADEMIC TOOLBOX NEWSLETTER

 

A belated HAPPY NEW YEAR to all!  Hope your new year brings peace and joy.  Speaking of joy, we had great roads to travel and a great time with the kids and grandkids Christmas weekend.  Played lots of games and visited while the kids played. 

 

Speaking of games, the USA Weekend magazine (Denzel Washington on the cover) says to try some games on family game night of which we have three.  Bananagrms, Ticket to Ride, and Wits & Wagers were three of their 6 suggestions.  Of other 3 were 2 that I don't think I would stock, Wine Wars and Wasabi, as they sound like upset stomach to me.  The third was The New York Cartoon Caption Game, which actually sounds like fun but I haven’t found a source for yet.

 

December sales proved to us, we needed to improve our selection of infant and toddler products.  Sharon is scouring catalogs now for new unique items.  We are thinking the need has increased because of all the attention being paid to early childhood education.  Most say the first five years have the biggest impact on your learning abilities.  If you have suggestions or input for us please let us know.  King 5 TV did an interesting half hour on the subject, which is probably available on their website.

JUST RECEIVED

Received a shipment of new Webkinz last week that included a Clover Puppy, Triceratops, Portuguese Water Dog, Ginger Cat, Weimaraner Dog, Signiture German Shepherd, and some new Webkinz Juniors.  Speaking of that reminds me that we are now on Facebook and will post new items on Facebook as they come in.  Become a fan.  Also just in some cloth books from Manhattan Toy.
